The MAIN STREET SINGERS perform
a variety of choral literature ranging from Renaissance to
Contemporary in over 100 concerts yearly.
Under the direction of Mark Andrew Shaull the MAIN STREET
SINGERS have achieved a truly international reputation
completing concert travel to 45 countries spanning six continents.
They have performed works in twenty languages.
In their 19 year history, the ensemble has sung over 175
international concerts. They have performed with the Beijing
Youth Philharmonic, San Felice Orchestra of Florence and the
Lima Philharmonic.
Concert tours have included: Canada, England, Scotland,West
Germany, Hungary, Austria, Switzerland, Egypt, Israel, Denmark,
Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Russia, South Korea, Hong
Kong, the People's Republic of China, France, Spain, Ireland,
Wales, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Greece Brazil, Peru,
Argentina, Poland, Czech Republic, the United Germany, Singapore,
Malaysia, Japan, Luxembourg, Belgium and Netherlands.
In the Spring of 2003 the Main Street Singers went on tour to Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, and Austria; in 2004 the tour took Main Street Singers to Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia,
Finland, and Sweden. In 2005 Main Street Singers went on tour to Croatia and Italy, and in 2006, MSS
toured Chile, Argentina, and Brazil.
Iceland, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden
were the tour destinations in 2007.
They have also performed for numerous state and regional
events and festivals of the American Choral Directors Association
and Music Educators National Conference.
The success of the Los Altos High School Main Street Singers
tradition is found in the unending commitment of the hundreds
of singers who have been involved throughout the years. Their
strong sense of devotion to group goals and continual search
for personal and ensemble growth through achievement has found
great reward in their artistic expresions.
The Main Street Singers "experience" is one which is nurtured
through love and commitment, and is limitless in its profound
and lifelong enrichment."
